Sanatan Dharma
The World’s Oldest
Sanatan Dharma is timeless, without a known beginning. It’s also called ‘Eternal Dharma’ or ‘Eternal order’.
‘SANATAN’ is said to be ageless, its beginning is not known. And, ‘DHARMA’ is not ‘religion’, but it’s a way of life, comprised of righteousness, duty, values, law etc. These values were derived from the Vedas, composed between 1500 and 500 BCE. Its texts were passed down orally, long before penned down in Sanskrit.
The core concept of ‘Sanatan Dharma’ has been, over the centuries, righteous living with its virtues and apply in one’s duties and responsibilities.
Other central concepts are : Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha. Its meanings are:

Dharma: religious or moral values.

Artha: wealth or economic values.

Kama: pleasure, love, or psychological values.

Moksha: liberation from the cycle of rebirth.
The concept of Dharma also includes:

Sanatan Dharma has a wide array of philosophies. Some prominent ones are:

VEDANTA: Non-dualism and the realization of oneness with Brahman.

SANKHYA: Dualism between matter and consciousness.

YOGA: Spiritual practices and ultimate goal of uniting with the Divine.

NYAYA – VAISHESHIKA: Logic and atomistic understanding of the Universe.
